Hospice and Palliative Care

Murdoch Community Hospice

DaisiesOn the initiative of the Sisters of St John of God, a twenty-bed community hospice was built, and is situated in the grounds of St John of God Health Care Murdoch, South of Perth. It provides palliative care for terminally ill patients, and supports their families and carers.

It opened in 1998 after three years of planning and an 18 month fundraising campaign which attracted corporate, government and community support.

The Hospice is a warm and friendly place filled with an atmosphere of tranquility, love and understanding. Staff adopt a holistic approach to care which acknowledges the physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural needs of all concerned.

St John of God Health Care provides palliative care services at all its health care facilities. www.sjog.org.au
