Collaborative Initiatives

Mental Health and Well Being

Post Natal Depression

Funding by the Sisters of St John of God was made available to establish a specialist post natal depression service at St John of God Health Care Subiaco. A second service has now been established in Victoria. This initiative recognizes the importance of early intervention in the prevention of post natal depression, contributing to healthy parents and strong well-developed parent/infant relationships.

Mental Health Employment Initiatives

St John of God Foundation has provided funding for a gardening program which assists people with or recovering from a mental illness to get back into the workforce. This program, co-ordinated by the Hills Mental Health and Support Network, provides a large garden shed and tools at Midland Brick, Western Australia, where clients are given work experience in a safe and controlled environment.
