Bidyadanga (La Grange) 1956
The Sisters of St John of God played an important collaborative role in the Catholic mission in La Grange (now known as Bidyadanga).
The mission was founded in 1956. Since becoming involved in the area, the small community of Sisters had been in the forefront of self-development and community programmes, always in collaboration with the local people. They had been greatly helped by the spirituality of the people they had come to serve.
The best tribute to the Sisters' work in the area comes from the Aboriginal people.
