Pakistan, 1980
In 1980 the Congregation of Sisters of St John of God in an ever present concern for people in need of care moved to Pakistan.
The foundation in this country has progressed steadily, and the Sisters are in partnership with the local people in the diocese of Lahore and Rawalpindi in providing healthcare, education and community outreach.
Sisters also participate in the provision of religious formation in an inter-congregational venture. Today there are Pakistani women who have made life-long commitment to being Sisters of St John of God and others are in various stages of formation towards making the same commitment as full members.
Pakistani-born Sisters of St John of God are the more recent links in the ever-widening circle of people dedicated to being expressions of God's love for humanity through the lifestyle and ministries of the Sisters of St John of God.
