Vocation Ministry
As a Sister of St John of God, I am very conscious of the
support and love of every Sister in the Congregation. I
believe in the hope and dreams articulated in our
Constitutions, which state:
"Like a 'fountain of living water' (Jer 2:13) from
which the members draw strength, vitality and fresh
inspiration, that spirit is the source in which they
find their identity and meaning as Sisters of St John
of God"
My role as Vocations Minister is a very privileged one, in which I: |
 |
- companion young women who are discerning where God
is calling them in life. We do this together by
reflecting on Scripture weekly and drawing on the
inspirations shared.
- plan retreats which enables young women to have quiet reflective time to experience God's gifts within themselves and their companions.
- I share our founding story and charism with young women, students in primary and secondary school,
mothers, and parishes bringing about a greater
awareness of the richness of our heritage.
- network and collaborate with our Sisters,
Archdiocesan Vocations committee, National Vocations committee keeping abreast of new
ideas and
opportunities in Vocations Ministry.
- assist young women who are discerning to give some time as volunteers in our St. John Of God Ministries in Tzaneen in South Africa or Pakistan.
